TruckDesk + Motive

Your Motive ELD already counts every mile in every state and every gallon at every pump. Connect it to TruckDesk and your IFTA quarterly builds itself.

How it works

Three steps, once a quarter

1Connect

Paste an API key from your Motive fleet dashboard (Admin → Developers). Read-only: TruckDesk never writes to your Motive account.

2Match

Motive's vehicles line up against your trucks: VIN first, unit number second, and you confirm every match before anything saves.

3Sync

One click per quarter pulls per-jurisdiction miles and fuel purchases, the two inputs an IFTA return is made of.

Read-only, your account only

TruckDesk reads mileage and fuel data from the fleet you connect. It never writes to Motive, and never sees another fleet's data.

IFTA math, done

Jurisdiction miles and fuel gallons land in the quarterly builder, and TruckDesk computes the return your ELD data already makes possible.

Motive keeps compliance

Your ELD keeps doing hours-of-service and DOT compliance. TruckDesk only borrows the numbers it already collects.

Setup needs a Motive API key, created by a Fleet Admin under Admin → Developers in the Motive dashboard. If the Developers section isn’t visible on your account, ask Motive support to enable API access. It’s a standard Motive feature for accessing your own fleet’s data.
